I just love the joyous chromatic richness of still life paintings. I have wanted to transpose this subject onto the majolica, adapting it to an uneven surface… in this case, the “priest’s hat” plate creates a sort of deep hollow in which are nested the baskets from which are joyously emerging flora and fauna’s bountiful gifts.
